NEW YORK METS »

METS Phillied up problems
the NY METS season has come to a reality stand point.
As painful as it's been to watch the season unfold the way it has, nothing stands worse for Mets fans than falling consistently at the hands of the Phillies.
Mets lose another 9-4 and have slid far away from that great .500 potential and possible wild card race. That's all way forgotten about. They'll also want to forget about their almost 18 inning scoreless streak that they snapped in the 7th inning on an RBI from Justin Turner, the longest drought for the Mets this year.
NY has really struggled against Philly losing 7 of their last 8 series in Philadelphia. That's what happens when you face a dominant team that seems to get everything right, but especially when you're in town.
Pelfrey (6-10) will try and stop the bleeding against Kendrick (7-5) in a daytime matchup on Wednesday.
Good luck Mets....as I'm ready to wrap up this season!

NEW YORK JETS »

JETS/GIANTS Huge Matchup 2012
New York Jets vs New York Giants.
This will be the most crucial game between the two teams since a battle in 1988 that kept the Giants out of the playoffs after being upset by the Jets.
Since then and from 1996 Giants have won 4 in a row in the series.
This is absolutely the biggest because of the major playoff Implications for both teams.
It's a Jets home game which could add an edge, but besides that it should be an all out dogfight.
Both teams have different strengths, as their weaknesses will have attempts at exploitation.
Giants are skilled and polished behind Eli Manning, but seem less cohesive right now in team depth. Giants injuries are also more devastating, only adding to the problem.
Objectively the Jets Defense is more balanced and should be able to wear down Manning. However it can only flow that way if Sanchez can stay solid and not force the big turnover. Greene must be affective as well in the run game.
This is the Jets time. Put aside all the talk first thing Saturday morning.
It's a battle and I see the Jets winning.

NEW YORK KNICKS »

Knicks Progressive Season is Over
The New York knicks season is over. Despite the way it ended with a sweep at the hands of the dreaded NY foe Boston Celtics, this was a successful Year.
Let's make no mistake about it knicks fans!
NY Knicks achieved a lot of the things they set out for, even more so with the deal that brought Carmelo Anthony to NY.
In light of Not signing Lebron James the Knicks did pretty well ending up with Amar'e Stoudemire, Carmelo, Chauncey Billups, and a surprising rookie in the 2nd round named Landry Fields. The team made the playoffs and had a winning record for the 1st time in 10 seasons.
So even though the effort in the 4-0 loss to the Celtics hurt, The team achieved the goal of landing 2 major young NBA superstars. They still need to add pieces like a true center, future point guard and depth on the bench, but we all know this is what it takes to win in this league. They just now need that 3rd star. Chris Paul? maybe...but regardless the future looks bright and only optimism should set in now.
There's been criticism of Coach Mike D'antoni's style and the way he's handled the team down the stretch, but Knicks brass looked at this rebuilding process as a long term plan with D'antoni at the helm. He will definitely be in NY next season without a hitch and only after next year will he be evaluated for his performance. So let's not dwell on it friends, he's here and we just have to accept that and deal with it. Hopefully once Donnie Walsh is re signed the team can get the pieces to make a huge run next year.
It should be a positive off season (once the lockout is resolved) for the Knicks, and all fans should enjoy this process of watching our Championship team being built. Let's work with the hand we're dealt, and hope it's a good one. We're Knicks fans and we're expecting something better than before.
We're expecting something more.
See Ya next season!

NEW YORK ISLANDERS »

A Non ISLANDER Season
As a NY Islander fan this will go down as one of the worst in team history.
Not as much by record (25-32-10) but by the lack of team unity and Identity.
However being a true "fan" you can't help but want to be encouraged by the hard work that the current young Islander team is displaying.
Though when it's all said and done, it's a losing team, and Sunday The Isles went down to one of their local rivals the NJ Devils 3-2 in a shootout.
Devils only lead the Isles in the standings by 4 points, but they've been surging winning 20 of their last 24 games. Brodeur has found more life in his Hall of fame legs, and the scoring of Kovalchuk and Rolston is paying off.
Islanders 60 points not the worst ever, but this is certainly a team that needs to locate it's Identity.
So many New York fans, especially on L.I. want to see the Isles return to the glory days of Stanley Cup Championships, and highly competitive hockey.
We're getting hard working no names right now, but thing s must change for the hope of the great team legacy.
